Social media has revolutionised the way we communicate, market and interact in society. It doesn’t matter if you are a social media butterfly or if you are just a bystander, the digital world would have had some sort of impact on a consumer’s life no matter the age, culture or data connection.

Let’s get straight to the point by highlighting the importance of a social presence. In 2017, if your company is not on some sort of social platform, it’s as good as being non-existent, because in this day and age information is key, and brand awareness is fundamental on social media.

What do we mean when we say, “Social Media Content”?

Essentially, it’s a post on a social media platform. Basically, it’s a couple of straight to the point sentences that are paired up with a picture to sell a message. It may sound easy, but there is so much more to a social media post than just some words with imagery.

Strong content is content that sparks an interest from your audience. It’s important to remember that brand pushing is not the only way to gain a good following. When you engage with customers using content that will entertain and encourage them to interact or even if the content is simply relatable, you are then familiarising yourself with the individuals and enticing them with your expandable personality. Social media content is a conversation, not an advert, that’s what makes social media marketing different from that of billboards and TV adverts.

  3. Why should they visit your social page?
  4. When is it a good time to show off what you have to offer?
  5. Where should they see it?

Trends are your friends! Find out what is trending in the social world, which is easy enough because it’s most likely popping up on your newsfeed right now. Stay up to date with news, fashion and all things that are your brand’s passion, to share this information with your followers. Always work to improve your content, chop, and change between content till you find a style that fits perfectly with your vibe.

It’s not good enough to just know the popular topic of the hour, you also need to be keeping up with the Joneses. Facebook has evolved greatly from the time Mark Zuckerberg started it in 2004, and now with a range of platforms like Snapchat all the way to WeChat, getting a message to an audience needs to be able to hold its own amongst competitors.

Stand out from the crowd with wowing content that conveys your point faster, better and in a cooler fashion such as videos and GIFs – a picture is worth a thousand words, but a video is worth a million views.

At the end of the day, you may know your brand best, but we know how to share it. Never underestimate the importance of amazing content because with great content, comes great following.
